Red Chilly / Milagai Chutney

Red Chilli / Milagai Chutney is especially for spice lovers. This is widely used in south india for tiffins like idli, dosa and paniyaaram. Use ripe red tomato so that we will get a nice red colour chutney.

It is one of the famous traditional recipe used in Chettinad area. We can soak the red chillies in hot water and then grind it in a mixie to get a smooth paste. With sambar, this chutney is a wonderful combination. Whenever we travel outside or for a picnic we can have this chutney as a side dish. My mother in law used to grind it in a grindstone (Ammi kal ). Wow really yummy. It will be very tastier than mixie when you try to grind in grindstone if you have at home.
